Writing Workshops
An education experience that will drive you to writing success.
At Tomeworks, we are passionate about education. Between Writers in the Schools, Houston Independent Authors, the Editorial Freelancers Association, and many other organizations, the Tomeworks editors have hosted over two hundred educational in-person and online activities for the greater writing community. Our combined skills are the assets you need to make your convention, conference, or educational group meeting a success. We love authors at all points in their writing journey, and would love to help you and your writing group build better books.
In-Person Events for the Greater Houston Area
We are eager to provide in person, face-to-face writing education to local authors in the greater Houston area such as The Woodlands, Katy, Spring, The Heights, Sugar Land, Friendswood, and Cypress. If your event will occur inside of Grand Parkway to the north, west, and east or if your event will be north of Alvin, TX on the south side of Houston, TX, our prices below are inclusive of travel costs. If your event will take place more than thirty miles from Houston’s downtown, additional travel costs may apply. If your event will take place more than one hundred miles from Houston’s downtown, please let us know on the form below and we’ll schedule a consultation to discuss your needs.
Our prices are inclusive of speaker fees and handouts/writing supplies as applicable. We do not provide meals, facility rentals, AV systems, or any other conference provisions.
Online Events
Write by the seat of your pants without actually wearing pants! We can host a workshop online or appear at your live event via the online communications system of your preference. Our prices are inclusive of speaker fees, presentation materials such as PowerPoint slides, and electronic PDF/MS Word handouts as applicable. We do not provide AV systems, conferencing software, recordings, or chat moderation in our fee, but we can assist with hiring one of our preferred vendors for these services. Our prices include thirty minutes of tech-check activities per speaker prior to the event.
We are happy to create one-hour, half-day, and whole-day curricula tailored to your specific needs!
